The N72 cycle trail runs past our campsite. This 160 mile cycling route stretches the length of the Hadrian's Wall. The majority of the route is now open and well signposted. Most of it follows well-surfaced gravel cycle paths, tarmac cycle paths and quiet minor roads.
There is a short dog walk at the campsite but there are two other trails you might like to try. There are long stretches where you can let your dog off-lead, but there may very well be cattle along the route so you may need to have your dog back on a lead at these points.
Herding Hill Farm is the starting point for the last in a series of about 26 Geocache hunts. The Geocache hunt goes from Herding Hill Farm in a circular route, taking in part of Hadrian's wall and heading north to the edge of Kielder forest.
